In the past two years I have cycled through a flood of emotions in response to external events that have often seemed overwhelming. These emotions have triggered reflection, revelation, and transformation. This series is an exploration of the dynamism of the self.
I’ve chosen to use found images of an unchangeable medium, stone sculpture, to represent what I once thought to be the immutable self. Using elements of cubism and surrealism, I have catalogued the emotions I have experienced and the change that was brought about by isolation and overwhelming events.
