I spent about 20 years in one career. Along the way I acquired a number of items that I kept in my office. Sometimes I displayed them prominently; sometimes they stayed in the background. Some I found or purchased, others I was given. Each had meaning for me, and my career as an HR professional. In some way they spoke visually to whom I was or what I valued or what I tried to bring to the work I did. They symbolized, respect, care, compassion, stability, patience, accountability, persistence, humor and so much more. Many, would be recognizable to my colleagues. I have yet to finish this project and have only just begun to photograph these items. For me this is an act of catharsis, a release of strong emotions. These photographs are meant to honor my time in HR and remember with great pride the work I did.  The most meaningful of these items are those that where given to me. My only regret is that many items where lost to time and moves from one office to another. These few images are meant to represent them all.
